Have a question about how we work? Chances are, someone has asked it before ... your answer may be right here. Click on any question in the list, and a short answer will appear (click the line question again to make the answer go away). If not, feel free to contact us:
What is this gonna cost me?
Again, it depends: we’ll work together with you to complete your project in a timely manner, but hold-ups can occur if any step that requires your action (such as approving designs or changes) is delayed. Here's a (very) general timeline:
Business Card site: 2-3 weeks
Brochure site: 3-4 weeks
Relationship site: 4-6 weeks
E-commerce site: 6-12 weeks
These are just rough estimates, obviously, based on ideal circumstances. We’ll be able to give you a more accurate estimate after we’ve gone through the web planning process with you.
How do I know you guys are honest?
Asking how much a website is going to cost is like asking a builder how much it would cost to build a house: the answer is always going to be, “It depends on what you want!” We’ve built sites for under $500 (not many) and worked on sites that came in over $10,000. It’s all dependent on your needs.
If that sounds like we’re hedging, well ... we are: we will always work with your budget, and we will always try to give you the most “bang for the buck”, but we’re just pulling numbers out of thin air until we know what you want and/or need.
Do you offer payment plans? If that sounds like we’re hedging, well ... we are: we will always work with your budget, and we will always try to give you the most “bang for the buck”, but we’re just pulling numbers out of thin air until we know what you want and/or need.
Generally speaking, when we are building a new site, we require 50% of the agreed upon amount paid before we start, and the remaining balance on the day the site goes live.
We offer this payment plan to help make the website you want more affordable. Certain restrictions may apply, and changes made “mid-project” can affect the final fees. We realize that everyone’s circumstances are different, but we’ve found this payment schedule works well for nearly all projects.

Well, the honest answer is, you don’t ... any more than you know that any other company out there is honest. However, as you go through this site, you’ll find we try our best to be upfront about everything. We go out of our way to make our clients happy, both during the web-building process and afterward.
But don’t take our word for it: read the client testimonials we’ve sprinkled throughout this site, then contact us yourself and see what you think.
Hey, my aunt’s baby-sitter’s college roommate’s boyfriend says he can build me a website for half of what you guys charge ... what do you say to that? But don’t take our word for it: read the client testimonials we’ve sprinkled throughout this site, then contact us yourself and see what you think.
Um ... you get what you pay for?
Seriously: why should I pay you guys twice as much for the same thing?
You shouldn’t. There is no good reason you should pay us twice as much for doing the same thing. The question you need to ask, however, is this: ARE you getting the same thing?
Take a look at our “Why Use WWN” page. Ask your programmer if he’s is willing to include all that at the same price. Ask what kind of design you’re getting. Ask how helpful he’ll be before, during, and after the programming.
Then ask yourself if you if you believe him.

That’s sort of like asking a painter if he’s ever painted a house the same color that you want to use: some sites do require more complicated functions to perform special tasks, but by and large, the content of your site or your type of business isn’t going to affect the methods, procedures, code, or system we use to build it.
We’ve worked with a wide range of clients, and we have the depth and experience to meet nearly any programming challenge. But here’s the thing: if we have even a doubt that we can’t complete the job to your satisfaction, we won’t take you on as a client. Period.
I have a great idea for a site like MySpace/Amazon/Youtube/...etc. Can you do this? We’ve worked with a wide range of clients, and we have the depth and experience to meet nearly any programming challenge. But here’s the thing: if we have even a doubt that we can’t complete the job to your satisfaction, we won’t take you on as a client. Period.
Very possibly. We’d need a lot more information in order to be sure, and the job would need to be quoted individually.
Understand, however, that the more complicated the coding, the more expensive the site ... sites as multi-layered as these are usually in the 5-figure price range, or more.
Say I want to work with you: what do we do now?Understand, however, that the more complicated the coding, the more expensive the site ... sites as multi-layered as these are usually in the 5-figure price range, or more.
For starters, we recommend you at least talk to us before making that determination. All our services begin with a free no-obligation consultation to determine who you are and what your business needs. This helps us gather information about your company, services, audience, purpose, site goals -- even your competitors!
Wait ... are you saying I might not want work with you?
Hey, we TOLD you we were honest ...
It’s like this: If you’re not comfortable talking to us, working with us, and being totally honest with us, you’ll probably be happier going somewhere else. If you’re offended by someone telling you to your face that your idea won’t work (and explaining why), then we’re not the company for you.
But if you want to create a great-looking professional website with a company who treats you as a valued member of the team ... well, contact us today and let’s get started.
What is our first step (after deciding to work with you)? It’s like this: If you’re not comfortable talking to us, working with us, and being totally honest with us, you’ll probably be happier going somewhere else. You’ll need a domain name (URL) for your site. If you don’t already have one, we’ll be happy to research possible choices, present you with options, and register the domain name for you. Domain name registration is $19/year per name.
You’ll also need a hosting service, (a computer server location to store all the files of your finished website so that the internet can access them). Because it’s more convenient for us if your site is hosted on our servers, so we offer very competitive hosting rates if you choose to do so.
Do I have to host with you? You’ll also need a hosting service, (a computer server location to store all the files of your finished website so that the internet can access them). Because it’s more convenient for us if your site is hosted on our servers, so we offer very competitive hosting rates if you choose to do so.
Oh, heavens no: unlike some programming companies, we don’t make hosting with us mandatory. If you prefer to host your site elsewhere, we’ll work with that company to set your site up and get it live. At that point, however, we’re out of it: hosting issues will have to be handled through your hosting company.
So from that perspective, choosing to host with us can be a big advantage for you: for starters, we give you a discount on the hosting fee. Plus, you won’t have to worry about all the technical issues of managing your hosting account and the servers, because we’ll handle it all ... you have a one contact for all aspects of your website.
OK, preliminaries are set; now, how does your web design process work?So from that perspective, choosing to host with us can be a big advantage for you: for starters, we give you a discount on the hosting fee. Plus, you won’t have to worry about all the technical issues of managing your hosting account and the servers, because we’ll handle it all ... you have a one contact for all aspects of your website.
After our initial meeting or phone call, we begin to plan the ideal web solution for you. We’ll get your input on content, pictures, graphics, logos -- even suggestions for colors. We’ll put this together into a “wireframe”, a high-level blueprint for your site.
Where does the content come from?
Ideally, you’ll provide us with any text and/or other content you’d like on your site, as well as any specific pictures you would like.
If you’re not sure what pictures would look good on your site, we can offer suggestions from our massive stock photography resources. We also offer professional photography and copywriting/editing services for an additional fee.
What about the design? If you’re not sure what pictures would look good on your site, we can offer suggestions from our massive stock photography resources. We also offer professional photography and copywriting/editing services for an additional fee.
During the wireframing process, we’ll probably ask you for examples of websites you really like, colors that are prominent in your industry, and the URLs from some of your competitors’ websites. With that information and your other input, our designers will begin work on a static "mockup" of what your website might look like when it's finished.
You’ll need to review this mockup -- either via email or on our development servers -- and request revisions as necessary before giving us final approval.
My mock-up looks great! Does this mean we’re almost finished? You’ll need to review this mockup -- either via email or on our development servers -- and request revisions as necessary before giving us final approval.
Not really, no, but we’re well on our way. After we get your final approval on the design and wireframe, we will then begin the actual process of building the web pages, incorporating the content with the design. At the same time, we’ll be building in basic elements to make your site more visible to search engines when it launches.
Can you do Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
When most people talk SEO, however, they mean focusing every element of your site to put you on the first page of a Google search. We’ve done that, and quite successfully. HOWEVER ... this process is work-intensive, expensive, and ongoing: There are better ways to get your site noticed, and we’ll be glad to discuss them with you. So, bottom line: yes, we can do it. No, you probably don’t want us to. And yes, our accountant cries when we tell people that.
But I just got an email from a guy who swears he can get my site on the front page of a Google search ... is that for real?
In our experience, while most of these solicitation emails are technically legal, they are still scams. It’s like the myths of people asking the ancient gods for something, and while the gods might grant the wish to the letter, it turns out to not be what the wisher actually wanted. If you’d like more information on these types of scams, feel free to Contact Us.
What happens after you program?
After your site is built, you’ll need to view all pages to make sure everything is exactly how you want it. We’ll test the site and go over all the links, but you should, too: it never hurts to have a fresh set of eyes on the final product. Any changes at this point should be minor; once you give us final approval, we’ll make the site live.
Will I need to hire an employee to maintain the site?
You'll have options for managing your site after it's completed. For code issues, you’ll still have access to the geeks at WowWebNow even after your site is up and running. Have a question? Simply contact us and we'll look into it promptly.
We can manage site content on a “per request” payment schedule, but if you intend to update the content daily or weekly, it might be to your benefit to consider having an employee take care of that for you. Or, you can choose an all-inclusive web master package where we manage your site and content for a year ... leaving you one less thing to stress about.

After your website is launched, we’ll work with you to establish a regular review and maintenance schedule of your web site to accommodate your requests, user feedback, system upgrades and any new emerging web technologies. We can work either on a yearly contract or on a “pay-as-you-go” basis.
What if I want someone else to work on the code for my site?
Many programmers feel that when the job is done, the client has the right to the content files but NOT to the computer code: if you want to make a change, you either have to go to the original programmer or start over.
Bugger that.
When your final check clears, the website we program for you is yours. Period. If, for whatever reason, you wish to use a different programmer, we’ll get you to sign a formal request, then we hand over all the files. Now obviously, we’re not responsible for mistakes made by programmers not in our employ, but if things don’t work out with your new guy, just give us a call: We’ll still be here.
I need a logo. Can you create a logo to go with my web site?Bugger that.

Certainly. We can also design and produce high-end brochures, business cards and stationery to go with your website -- all for costs that are considerably lower than a local advertising agency.
Please note: there are different elements that go into a web logo vs. a logo for print. If you are thinking you may use your web logo for print applications, please let us know in advance so we can take that into consideration as we are designing.

We used to say you could call any of them. Unfortunately, several clients began getting barraged with phone calls, and actually got rather snippy with us about it, so we stopped encouraging the calls.
Quotes sprinkled throughout this site can give you an idea of what are clients think ... and of course we encourage you to check out the work in our portfolio. If you still feel like you’d like to speak directly to a client, we can put you in touch with one or two (after we respectfully and gingerly ask their permission, of course ... ).

Oh, wouldn’t THAT be fun on my kid’s Career Day at school ... ?
This issue has come up before. And every time it does, we take an informal office poll, and every time the response is pretty much unanimous: sorry, no. Nothing against anyone who does it, but we’re not even sure we could quit giggling long enough to get the thing done ...
